How Logic Satellite collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Logic Satellite (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. Information we collect
We collect personal information only when you provide it to us, typically when you:
- Complete the contact form on this website (name, phone number, email address, suburb, service required and your message);
- Call, WhatsApp or email us (your contact details and the content of your enquiry);
- Book an installation or repair (your address and access details needed to perform the work).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not collect special personal information (such as health, religious or biometric data).
2. How we use your information
We use your personal information solely to:
- Respond to your enquiry and provide quotes;
- Schedule, perform and follow up on installations and repairs;
- Invoice for completed work and keep records required by law;
- Contact you about work we have carried out for you (for example, guarantee follow-ups).
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not add you to marketing lists without your consent.
3. Legal basis for processing
Under POPIA, we process your information because it is necessary to respond to your request and to perform the services you ask us for, or because you have consented by voluntarily submitting your details.
4. Sharing of information
Your information is shared only with the technicians and administrative staff who need it to serve you. We may disclose information where required by law, or with service providers (such as our email host) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations. We do not transfer your personal information outside South Africa except where our service providers’ infrastructure requires it, and then only with appropriate safeguards.
5. Storage and security
Enquiries submitted through this website are sent directly to our business email. We take reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, damage and unauthorised access, including access controls on our devices and accounts. We retain enquiry and job records only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by tax and consumer-protection law, after which they are deleted.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website does not set tracking cookies of its own. Embedded third-party content (such as the Google Maps frame and Google Fonts) may set cookies or collect usage data subject to Google’s own privacy policy. You can block third-party cookies in your browser without affecting your ability to contact us.
7. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction or deletion of your information;
- Object to processing of your information;
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.
